Islamabad Airport - Project Management Consultancy
At Robust Expert Services Ltd, our involvement in the New Islamabad International Airport project was extensive and multi-faceted, reflecting our depth in project and construction management consultancy. We oversaw critical aspects of the airport's development, including the construction of the Passenger Terminal Building with 15 boarding gates, runways, taxiways, aprons, and advanced systems like Baggage Handling, CCTV, Public Announcement Systems, and Airfield Lighting. Our team was instrumental in integrating essential facilities such as Air Traffic Control Towers, Fire Crash Rescue Building, Radar Radio Buildings, and essential utility systems including Water Treatment and Storage Plant, External Electrification, and Hydrant Refuelling System.
Our contribution extended to providing expert advice to the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority on program and budget for multiple work package contracts under FIDIC 1987 Civil and E&M forms. We managed the compilation of bill of quantity increases, variation orders, and claims, ensuring accuracy and justifications. Leading a team of four planning engineers, we focused on optimizing the remaining work and conducting retrospective forensic program analysis for extension of time claims. Evaluating contractors’ time and cost extension claims, we submitted comprehensive recommendation reports to the Employer. Utilizing tools like Excel pivot tables, we enhanced project planning by predicting completion times and identifying potential delays, thus proactively mitigating risks and minimizing negative impacts on project timelines. Additionally, our commitment to professional growth was evident as we facilitated team development through PMP study materials, leading to two team members achieving their PMP certification.
